2019: ANA Chair, Kavwam emerges SDP reps candidate for Mangu/Bokkos

The Chairman of Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Plateau State Chapter, Mr. Stanley Augustine Kavwam, has clinched the ticket of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to contest the Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Kavwam emerged as the candidate of the party during the primary election, which took place in Mangu, headquarters of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The University of Jos-trained social worker-turned-politician in his remarks to delegates, who affirmed him while speaking, promised to transform the constituency through the injection of novel ideas to enhance the economic viability of his people.

Kavwam pointed out that these will be “facilitated through the exploration of economic potentials of the constituency particularly within the agricultural sub sector to make life meaningful for residents”.

He further stressed that “youth unemployment, which is rising at an astronomic rate in the constituency will be addressed through the youth entrepreneurial skills development synergy which is a key component of my manifesto for the constituency.”

He emphasized the need for youth inclusion in legislation as dynamics of the 21st century call for requisite knowledge of global issues, problems and challenges which can only be solved by 21st century solutions as much of these contemporary challenges are relatively technological or e-driven.

“Advancements in crytocurrency and electronic money, which hinge on decentralized ledgers, are global trends that can only be grasped and understood by young and sound legislators who understand the importance of ICT in the 21st century and its impact on policies and programmes of governments across the globe”.
