No less than 269 Nigerians stranded in India because of the coronavirus pandemic have returned residence.

It was gathered that 103 evacuees arrived on the Murtala Muhammed Worldwide Airport, Lagos whereas 166 residents landed on the Nnamdi Azikwe Worldwide Airport, Abuja.

It was additionally learnt Nigerian airline, Air Peace, airlifted the returnees early Saturday.


“The flight arrived on the Nnamdi Azikwe Worldwide Airport, Abuja, at 1:50hrs at the moment, June 13, 2020, and proceeded to the Murtala Muhammed Worldwide Airport, Lagos,”
the airline stated in an announcement.

Additionally, the Nigerians in Diaspora Fee confirmed the event by way of Twitter, stressing that the evacuees have begun a compulsory 14-day self-isolation.

“269 stranded Nigerians in India landed in Nigeria (103 in Lagos, 166 in Abuja) at the moment, Saturday 13th June 2020.

“All evacuees now on obligatory 14 days self-isolation based on the brand new protocol by the Presidential Activity Power on COVID-19. All examined detrimental earlier than boarding and are to be re-tested inside 72 hours at a Nigeria Centre for Illness Management designated testing centre,” it wrote.
