Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Kwara State Governor, has imposed a curfew on the state.

The governor imposed a 24 hour Curfew on the individuals of the state from midnight at present (Saturday).

The governor made the announcement in a statewide broadcast on Midland 99.1 FM.

Abdulrazaq stated, “Lives are being threatened. Companies are being looted. Public properties have been focused. That is unacceptable. It isn’t who we’re.

“To curb these acts of criminalities, I hereby declare a 24-hour curfew in Ilorin metropolis from midnight at present October 23rd, 2020. That is according to Sections 1, 2 and four of the Public Order Act Chapter 382 Legal guidelines of Federation of Nigeria 2004.

“Persons are urged to remain indoors in compliance with this curfew. This will probably be reviewed as we watch developments.

“Our commentary is that what has occurred at present isn’t a protest, it can’t be defended below any information, it was a pure act of criminality as some individuals are hiding below the guise of nationwide protest.”

He requested safety brokers to implement the curfew as from midnight and restore normalcy within the state.

Many public services together with the Ilorin Airport Cargo Terminal, Agro Mall, Customs workplace and ShopRite Mall in Ilorin have been vandalized whereas Palliatives together with Rice, Yamflour, Indomine and different meals objects and electronics in addition to telephones and constructing supplies had been looted by hoodlums who invaded the locations.
