Aliko Dangote Endorses Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala For World Trade Organization DG Job

The candidacy of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Nigeria’s former minister of finance, for the workplace of the director-general World Commerce Organisation (WTO) has acquired a lift following an endorsement from Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man.

Aliko Dangote took to Twitter to indicate his help for Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala, who is without doubt one of the candidates vying for the place which turned vacant following the resignation of Roberto Azevedo on Monday, August 31.

Dangote tweeted: “In these difficult instances, the World Commerce Organisation wants the famend abilities and examined expertise of  Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to guide the organisation by recognized obstacles and strengthen its place because the prime facilitator of worldwide commerce”.

He added: “A vote for her by all is a step in the correct route. I absolutely endorse the candidature of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to guide WTO.”
