Boat Driver Arraigned In Courtroom Over The Loss of life Of 12 Passengers

A ship driver recognized as Happiness Elebiju has been arraigned in court docket by the Lagos state authorities over the loss of life of 12 individuals onboard his boat in Ilashe waterfront group in July.

The motive force who was arraigned on a 10 rely cost bordering on involuntary manslaughter on Monday August 24, was accused of inflicting his passengers’ loss of life by exceeding the capability of the boat.

Elebiju was remanded at a correctional middle after pleading not responsible earlier than Justice Josephine Oyefeso of the Lagos State Excessive Courtroom sitting in Ikeja.

Justice Oyefeso adjourned the case until Thursday August 27, for the graduation of the trial after the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Mrs Olayinka Adeyemi requested the court docket for time to arrange for the trial.
