Bowen College, Iwo, Osun State, has sacked about 10 per cent its workforce.

The affected employees have been stated to have obtained mail intimating them of the termination of their appointment on Tuesday after their salaries for the month of June have been paid.

One of many affected employees  members stated 127 employees throughout all departments and sections of the establishment have been affected.

The Head of Media and Public Relations Unit of the college, Toba Adaramola, confirmed the sacking on Wednesday.

Adaramola stated, “When the current administration of the establishment got here on board in 2018, it was found that the varsity was on the level of inflexion.

“When the administration studied the state of affairs, it was found that we should change our tradition of doing issues, or change product.

“Our college students are our product; that we can not change. However we determined to vary the mannequin the varsity had operated. The varsity had for lengthy operated like public establishments; whereas public establishments have grant, we don’t have. “Eight to 10 per cent of the workforce was affected. June wage was paid yesterday (Tuesday) and after the cost, the affected employees have been intimated of the disengagement via mail.”
