Buhari Approves N13bn For Community Policing

President Muhmmadu Buhari has given his approval for N13 billion for use within the implementation of Neighborhood Policing all through the nation.


The approval was disclosed on the digital NEC assembly presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday in Abuja.


The digital assembly was anchored from the Presidential Villa on Thursday in Abuja.


Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, in a press release stated the president’s gesture was borne out of his resolve to rejig the safety structure within the nation and ship a more practical policing.


“At in the present day’s NEC, Osinbajo, requested governors, Secretary to the Authorities of the Federation (SGF), Finance Minister and the Inspector-Common of Police (IGP) to work out modalities on how the funds can be effectively utilised to make sure an efficient implementation of Neighborhood Policing in Nigeria, after which report again to NEC.

“Particularly, the governors will likely be represented at this consultations by the Nigeria Governors’ discussion board Chairman and two others.

“There isn’t a relenting in effort to safe lives and property throughout Nigeria,” he stated.
