The police has arrested a 60-year-old faux physician recognized as Charles George for treating COVID-19 sufferers.

The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria who confirmed the suspect’s arrest on Thursday August 20, stated he was apprehended at his one-room condo at Block 1, Julius Berger Junior Workers Quarters popularly often known as Berger Camp in Kubwa, by police detectives from the workplace of the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory.

“George has been vetted as an everyday buyer of the FCDA Police Station and Kubwa Space Command Headquarters for a number of issues in reference to blended medication and extortion of his purchasers since 2016.”

The Deputy Registrar and Head of the Inspectorate Division of the MDCN, Dr. Victor Gbenro on his personal half stated;

“The suspect is alleged to have been practising different medication with out registration or licence from the MDCN, which is statutorily mandated to manage the follow of medical, dental and different medication in Nigeria.

“Investigation revealed that his follow will not be recognized or registered by the FCDA Non-public Well being Facility Registration Company. The police have commenced additional investigation and prosecution of the suspect. That is one among the many a number of efforts of the council at sanitising the medical career within the nation.”
