DSS Rescues Minister, Soun As Hoodlums Attack Palace In Ogbomoso

A gathering between the Minister of Youth and Sports activities Improvement, Sunday Dare, the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi, and different chiefs was not too long ago disrupted by suspected hoodlums on Sunday.

In line with The PUNCH report, the assembly was disrupted when some hoodlums attacked the Soun’s palace in Ogbomoso.

It was gathered that safety operatives rescued the minister, the monarch, and different chiefs on the assembly.

Nevertheless, our correspondent couldn’t instantly verify if the hoodlums’ assault was focused on the minister and others on the assembly.

Whereas confirming the report, the minister lamented that the hoodlums destroyed properties within the palace.

He tweeted, “Ogbomoso- Hoodlums, thugs and miscreants distrupt stakeholders assembly in Soun’s palace now -invading, stoning and breaking doorways, glasses. Soun, myself and council chiefs had been scurried into security by the police and Division of State Companies.

“The hoodlums broke into the palace and destroyed chairs, overturned tables, broke home windows. These weren’t youth or College students. These had been miscreants and thugs who noticed a window of alternative within the protest which (was) since abated. Fortunately, Soun, the chiefs, leaders of Parapo are secure.”

The minister puzzled why the Soun’s palace, saying that peace had been restored.

Dare added, “Ogbomoso youths are law-abiding. However hoodlums have taken over. A mixed workforce of operation Burst from Ibadan and a unit from Iliorin at the moment are on floor in Ogbomoso to assist hold the peace, shield the peaceable and harmless and likewise cease felony components. Soun of Ogbomosho yesterday and as we speak personally appealed to this group to cease violence.”
