Female Iraqi Activist Shot Dead In Basra

Riham Yaqoob, a feminine Iraqi activist and physician who led native anti-government protests was shot useless within the Iraqi metropolis of Basra on Wednesday August 19.

Following the homicide of Yaqoob, Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi dismissed Basra’s chief of police and different safety officers. He additionally vowed  to “do all the pieces essential for the safety forces to undertake their duties”.

There was continous protests in Iraq as a result of endemic corruption, excessive unemployment, dire public providers and international interference.
