FG Bars Air France, KLM, Others, Approves 14 Airlines

The Nigerian Authorities has launched the record of 9 airways granted approval to begin worldwide flights in Nigeria, The PUNCH reviews.

Talking at a briefing of the Presidential TaskForce on Thursday, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, confirmed the September 5 because the date for the resumption flights, backing an earlier assertion issued by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority.

He added that the  Nnamdi Azikiwe Worldwide Airport, Abuja and Murtala Muhammed Worldwide Airport can be opened up for operations.

The minister famous that Air France, KLM, Etihad, RwandAir, Air Namibia, Royal Air Maroc, Lufthansa, TAAG Angola Airways had been denied approval to begin flight operations.

He stated Cabo Verde and South African airways had been denied approval as worldwide flights had been but to renew of their international locations.

Center East Airline, British Airways, Delta, Qatar, Ethiopian Airways, Emirates Airways, Air Peace, Virgin Atlantic, Asky Airways, Africa World Airways, Air Cote-d’ Ivoire, Kenya Airways, EgyptAir, Turkish Airways had been all granted approval to renew.

Sirika stated, “Abuja and Lagos shall be open for operations on the fifth of September. We’re happy with the preparations thus far. We don’t anticipate any hitches.

“Saturday for Lagos there shall be BA, Delta, Emirates, Qatar, AWA, Kenya Airways and Center East airways whereas for Abuja we now have BA, EgyptAir, Emirates, Ethiopian Airways, AWA, Center East Airways and Turkish. He listed Egypt Air, Virgin Atlantic, Turkish Airways, Africa World Airways, Kenya Airways, and Center East Airways as airways permitted to function into the Lagos airport.

The minister additionally listed British Airways, Emirates, Ethiopian, Africa World Airways, and Center East Airways as airways allowed to function into the Abuja airport.

Sirika tasked the passengers to take duty and acquire all COVID-19 protocols laid down by the PTF, promising to sanction errant passengers and the airways concerned.
