FG Reveals Plan To Setup Judicial Panels Of Inquiry To Investigate Cases Of Police Brutality And Extrajudicial Killings

Following the on-going #EndSARS protest in opposition to brutality within the nation, the Federal authorities has revealed plans to arrange Judicial panels to analyze and obtain complaints of harassment, brutality or associated extrajudicial killings by the police pressure and arrange particular victims fund to compensate victims.

The choice was taken on the Nationwide Financial Council NEC which was chaired by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Thursday, October 15. Bashir Ahmad, Private Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Bashir Ahmad, disclosed this on his Twitter deal with.

He Wrote;

”The Nationwide Financial Council (NEC) chaired by VP Osinbajo, has directed the rapid institution of Judicial Panels of Inquiry to obtain and examine complaints of Police brutality or associated further judicial killings, the task to be concluded inside 6 months (max.).

From immediately’s NEC Assembly, chaired by VP. • Judicial Panels of Inquiry shaped to analyze police brutality. • Panels have 6 months to finish task. • Council directs governors to right away set up a Particular Victims Fund to compensation victims of brutality.”
