Four Men Arrested For Beating A Police Officer To Death In Ogun

The police in Ogun state have arrested 4 males for allegedly beating a yet-to-be-identified police officer to dying in Dalemo, Sango, within the Ado-Odo-Ota Native Authorities Space of the state on Sunday, September 13.

In an announcement launched on Monday, September 14, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, stated the 4 arrested males recognized as Jelili Ismaila, 22; Amidu Bankole, 34; Elijah Samson, 36; and Moses Proboye, 34, have been reportedly employed by a truck driver who had an argument with the deceased police officer and his colleague

Oyeyemi stated the deceased constable and one different have been escorting their principal from Idah in Kogi State to Lagos State when the incident occurred.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased officer and one different escorted their principal from Idah in Kogi State to Lagos State. On their method passing by way of Sango Ota, a truck driver, Jelili Ismaila, drove dangerously and nearly pushed their automobile off the highway.

Whereas attempting to not hit the automobile conveying the officers, the truck entered a pothole because of which its tyre acquired punctured.

This made the 2 policemen to come back down and warning the truck driver to all the time be aware of different highway customers. However the driver accused them of being at fault, thereby mobilizing hoodlums who attacked the officers and their principal with weapons and beat the deceased to a coma.

Having realised that the policeman could not survive the assault, the driving force and his employed hoodlums took to their heels. However luck ran out on 4 of them when the DPO and his males on a tip-off stormed their hideout and acquired them arrested, whereas 4 others escaped.

The stays of the deceased officer have been deposited on the Common Hospital Ota mortuary.” the assertion learn

Oyeyemi added that the police has launched a manhunt for the opposite fleeing suspects.
