Governor Obaseki Wins Certificate Forgery Case

A Federal Excessive Court docket in Abuja has struck out a swimsuit filed in opposition to the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki accusing him of certificates forgery.


The plaintiffs, within the swimsuit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/553/2020 had accused Obaseki of forging his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) certificates in Classical Research from the College of Ibadan.


Listed as plaintiffs within the swimsuit are Edobor Williams, Ugbesia Abudu Godwin and Amedu Dauda Anakhu.

The plaintiffs contended that the alleged certificates forgery contravenes part 182(1)(i) of the Structure of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).


They prayed the courtroom to amongst others, maintain that Obaseki is “not certified to run or search election to the workplace of the governor of Edo State” within the forthcoming 2020 governorship election.


On the point out of the case on Monday, neither the plaintiffs nor their legal professionals have been in courtroom.  The defendant too was not represented.


In view of the event, Justice Anwuli Chiekere proceeded to strike out the swimsuit.
