IGP, Mohammed Adamu Breaks Silence On Arrest And Detention Of Magu

The Inspector-Normal of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu has opened up on the arrest and detention of suspended appearing Chairman of the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu.

 

He stated that the police haven’t any hand in his detention.

 

Magu is presently being interrogated by a presidential investigation committee headed by Justice Ayo Salami following corruption allegation towards him from the Legal professional Normal of the Federation, AGF, and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.

 

Magu has been detained for about 10 days on the Drive Felony Investigation Division, FCID.

 

Following the detention, the previous anti-graft boss’ lawyer Tosin Ojoamo, had written to the IGP requesting for his bail.

 

However in a response to the request, the police boss denied a hand in Magu’s detention, attributing it to the presidential panel.

 

In a letter addressed to the lawyer with reference quantity:

“The Inspector-Normal of Police directs that your consideration be drawn to the truth that the Nigeria Police Drive shouldn’t be investigating C.P. Ibrahim Magu (your consumer) and he isn’t accordingly, not being detained by the police however by the presidential panel that’s investigating the actions of the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee (EFCC).

The IGP letter was signed by DCP Owohunwa, Principal Workers Officer for the Inspector Normal of Police.

 

In the meantime, Magu arrived on the Banquet Corridor of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, along with his lawyer about 9 am on Wednesday for the continued investigation.
