After an settlement between the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board and Vice-Chancellors, Rectors, and Provosts of tertiary establishments was reached on Monday, it has now been revealed that the 2020/2021 post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination screening will start in Nigeria’s greater establishments on September 7.

Registrar of JAMB, Prof Is-haq Oloyede, who made the announcement, stated the screening would now maintain between September 7 and November 18.

Earlier, the board had issued a tenet for all tertiary establishments to start their admission with impact from August 20.

Oloyede stated the adjustment within the date would enable college students taking the 2020 O’ degree examinations to have the ability to take part within the screening.

He stated, “Presently as you’re conscious, WAEC begins the Senior College Certificates Examination on August 17, it should go on until September 7.

“Equally, on September 21 or thereabout, NABTEB will start its examination that may go on until on the 15 of October, and instantly after that, NECO begins on the fifth and can maintain until 18 of November.

“Moderately than making candidates run, notably, once they must write their faculty certificates examination in numerous cities and rush to school elsewhere for post-UTME, like any person speeding from Sokoto to Ibadan for post-UTME, we consider as a custodian of the best sector of the training system, we should always keep away from that.

“For these (establishments) who need to take post-UTME, that can’t be sooner than the seventh of September and it will likely be held twice – September 7 to October four, after which it will likely be held for the second time on the 18 November to mop up those that are taking their faculty certificates examination.”
