Journalists Boycott Fani-Kayode's Press Conference In Uyo

The Akwa Ibom chapter of the The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has directed its members to boycott a press convention deliberate for a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, The Nation experiences.

In a press release on Friday, the chapter requested journalists to not attend any exercise organised by the previous Minister.

Fani-Kayode, who’s in Akwa-Ibom, had insulted a reporter with DailyTrust, Eyo Charles, for asking him who was bankrolling his nationwide journeys in Cross River final week.

The ex-Minister, who started a tour of some states, particularly these managed by the Peoples Democratic Social gathering (PDP) states in July, visited Cross River final week.

He poured vituperations on the reporter, disparaging him as “very silly”.

“I might see out of your face earlier than you bought right here, how silly you might be. Don’t ever speak to me like that. Who do you suppose you’re speaking to? Bankroll who?

“You suppose I’m a type of ones you… from who, when, how? You may have a small thoughts, a really small thoughts. Don’t decide me by your individual requirements,” he had mentioned.

His feedback had generated widespread criticism from many Nigerians and teams, together with the NUJ which described him as “illiberal and unstable”.
