JUST IN: Gas Explosion Hits Lagos Community

A fuel explosion has occurred within the Baruwa space of Ipaja in Lagos state.

The incident occurred round 6:00am on Thursday.

The Lagos State Emergency Administration Company confirmed the event on Twitter.

It stated emergency response has been activated.

In a press release, Nosa Okunbor, LASEMA spokesman, stated investigation revealed fuel station belonging to Greatest Roof Cooking Fuel exploded burning buildings round it.

He stated although the reason for the explosion is but to be ascertained, 4 individuals died whereas a number of others had been injured.

Okunbor stated varied businesses have been deployed on the scene of the inferno to stop an additional unfold of the fireplace.

“On arrival on the scene of incident it was noticed that there was a fuel explosion on the aforementioned location,” he stated.

“Additional investigation on the scene revealed that the a fuel station belonging to Greatest Roof Cooking Fuel exploded by burning buildings round. The reason for the explosion couldn’t be ascertained in the mean time.

“Sadly, 4 mortalities had been recorded and several other others injured. A mixed effort of the Company’s Tiger staff, Dolphin staff, LRU Hearth, LASG Hearth Service, NPF, NUPENG, and LNSC are on floor to curtail the unfold of the fireplace to different buildings.”

On September 24, a fuel explosion rocked the Ifako-Ijaiye space of Lagos. 16 individuals had been injured within the explosion and properties had been destroyed.
