LASTMA Reacts After Its Staff Were Caught Counting N250,000 Extorted From Road Users (Video)

LASTMA officials who extorted money from road users finally exposed

LASTMA officers who extorted cash from highway customers lastly uncovered


After a Nigerian man recognized as Ibukun Mike uncovered some officers of Lagos State Visitors Administration Authority (LASTMA) counting the cash they extorted from him and different 4 highway customers, the company has reacted.


Narrating how the shameful incident occurred, Ibukun Mike stated it occurred on Might 15, 2020.


He acknowledged that he and different highway customers have been responsible of taking “a method” however he defined that they did so as a result of there was a highway block on the aspect of the highway they have been presupposed to cross.


In accordance with Mike, a LASTMA official from the “Masamasa” (Maza-Maza) LASTMA workplace stopped them and took them to his workplace the place he allegedly collected 50,000 Naira in money from every of them with out giving them receipts.


In a video shared by Mike, a girl is seen counting the cash allegedly extorted from these arrested.


Mike claims the officer who did the extortion left the workplace and requested his assistants seen within the video to depend the cash.


Reacting to the video, LASTMA stated they’re finishing up an investigation.


They tweeted:


“Our consideration has been drawn to the current video making rounds about extortion from our officers. The Company has taken notice of this at the same time as investigation has commenced. The officers concerned might be summoned for subsequent disciplinary motion, if discovered responsible. @jidesanwoolu.

“We urge the general public to proceed to report any errant officer(s) to the company by way of any of the channels [email protected]”
