A Nigerian lawmaker, Senator Nicholas Tofowomo, who represents the Ondo South Senatorial District, has spoken on the #EndSARS protests.

The senator, on Friday stated operatives of the disbanded Particular Anti-Theft Squad killed one in all his constituents, based on SaharaReporters.

Tofowomo disclosed this in an announcement by his Particular Assistant on Media and Publicity, Akinrinlola Olumide.

The Senator additionally recommended Nigerian youth for his or her protests in opposition to police brutality.

He stated, “I commend Nigerian youth for protesting the brutality of the infamous police unit often known as SARS in current days. Whereas I stand by the youth in protesting the continual killing of harmless souls by safety operatives, particularly males of the SARS unit, it’s a slap on all of us – an insult to Nigerians; the mere change of title from SARS to Particular Weapons and Ways by the Inspector-Basic of Police.

“The issue with the police system in Nigeria is past the naming and renaming of a selected unit. Nigeria’s inner safety is a complete mess, starting from overgrowing police brutality, impunity, human rights abuses, decaying infrastructures, poor funding, unabating official corruption, analogue policing, and lots of others that would not be overemphasised.

“There’s a want for police reform in Nigeria. The police system in Nigeria doesn’t conform to modern society.”
