Prominent Nigerian Pastor Arrested In Zimbabwe For Allegedly Offering Bribe To Railway Officials

Nixon Chibuzor Ohizu, a cleric who is alleged to be a outstanding Nigerian pastor in Zimbabwe’s capital metropolis Harare, has been arrested.

The person was arrested for allegedly providing a $2,000 bribe to Nationwide Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) officers.

The 46-year-old head pastor of Empowerment Ministries Church was accused of providing USD $2,000 to 2 excessive rating NRZ officers to allow them to reverse the cancellation of a lease settlement between his church and the transport utility.

Chibuzor who was served the lease settlement on August 7, met Colonel Nyabambi and Clive Ncube on the NRZ workplace. The 2 NRZ officers reportedly accepted a bribe supply of $2,000 and agreed to reverse the cancellation on the lease settlement as soon as he had delivered the agreed quantity.

Upon returning to the workplace not realizing entice has been set, he was arrested by the police. The bribe cash which was in $100 denominations was recovered by the police and is at the moment being stored as an exhibit.

He was not requested to plead to the allegations when he appeared earlier than Harare Justice of the Peace Richard Ramaboa. He was remanded out of custody to October 1 on $10, 000 bail and was ordered to give up his passport.
