Rivers University Lecturer Suspended For Allegedly Sexually Harassing And Impregnating A Student

Dr Rowland Uchechukwu Igwe,  a Sociology Lecturer of Ignatius Ajuru College of Training (IAUE) has been suspended by the administration for allegedly impregnating a scholar.

It was gathered that the lecturer allegedly intimidated, sexually harassed the mentioned scholar earlier than impregnating her.

Vice Chancellor of the College, Prof. Oz-Mekuri Ndimele, who confirmed the event in a press release on his private Fb account, on September 24, mentioned the undergraduate suffered well being issues on account of the being pregnant.


“The Administration of the Ignatius Ajuru College of Training has positioned a lecturer, Dr Rowland Uchechukwu Igwe of the Division of Sociology on an Indefinite suspension on an allegation of serial intimidation, sexual harrassment and undue canal information of a feminine undergraduate which resulted in her impregnation and different well being issues.”

“The matter has been referred to the Council-Senate Committee on employees disciplinary issues for additional investigation.” the assertion reads.
