A police officer pictured extorting cash from a motorcyclist in Aguda, Surulere, Lagos is in deep trouble after the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Hakeem Odumosu ordered the speedy orderly room trial of the officer.


Inspector Joseph Dike, connected to Aguda Division of Lagos State, went viral after he was captured extorting a motorcyclist at Pako Pin-Down Level, Aguda, the place he was posted on Cease and Search responsibility on 22nd September 2020.


On Wednesday, September 23, Simply in the future after the incident, the police chief ordered a trial. 


An announcement signed by the Lagos State Command Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said that “the Commissioner of Police has additionally ordered the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command to flow into a strong-worded sign, warning all police personnel within the command to desist from corrupt practices, extortion, misuse of energy, improper dressing, harassment to members of the general public through the use of sticks or horse whip, violation of human rights and drunkenness on responsibility, as such will entice extreme reprimand or punishment in response to the provisions of the Police Act and Rules and different extant legal guidelines of Nigeria.”


Adejobi added within the assertion that “the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, as well as, warned senior cops of the command to warning their males and be sure that his directives with a view to stopping these unprofessional and unethical conducts are strictly complied with.”

The Police boss went on to guarantee most of the people of his dedication to have “that required and people-oriented policing system in Lagos State.”
