In accordance with a report by The PUNCH, scores of individuals are lacking after a truck fell off the Berger bridge into the Epe river in Lagos State.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Friday night time.

It was additionally learnt that the variety of individuals within the truck was unknown.

The Lagos State Emergency Administration Company confirmed the incident on Saturday.

Head, Public Affairs of LASEMA, Nosa Okunbor, mentioned search and rescue operations are ongoing.

He mentioned, “Upon arrival on the scene of the incident, it was found six-tyre truck loaded with sand fell into the river.

“The variety of individuals within the truck can’t be ascertained at current.

“For the reason that early hours of at this time, a mixed crew of company responders, Marine Rescue Unit, Nigeria Police and native divers are finishing up search and rescue operations.

“No deaths or casualties confirmed but.”
