Serious Tension As Police Protect Coca-Cola Truck After It Crushes 3 People To Death In Ibadan

The truck killed the three persons –two males and one female – in front of Bovas Filling Station as the commercial motorcyclist, popularly known as Okada rider, tried to overtake the truck.

According to SaharaReporters, no fewer than three people were reportedly killed in an accident involving a commercial motorcyclist and a Coca-Cola truck at the Total Garden Area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Wednesday morning.

The truck killed the three persons –two males and one female – in front of Bovas Filling Station as the commercial motorcyclist, popularly known as Okada rider, tried to overtake the truck.

There were two passengers on the bike with the rider.

SaharaReporters reports that immediately after the incident, some youths and commercial motorcyclists in the area attempted to burn the truck but the police prevented the arson attack by shooting into the air to keep them off.

Our correspondent reports that the incident has raised tension in the area, as residents are running helter-skelter to avoid being caught in the middle.
