Shock As Flood Sweeps Away Two Children In Lagos

Flood from torrential rainfall has swept away two yet-to-be-identified youngsters at Oyebanjo road, Ketu space of Lagos State, The PUNCH studies.

The Lagos State Emergency in a scenario report on Sunday mentioned a search operation is ongoing to seek out the lacking youngsters.

LASEMA’s Director-Normal and Chief Govt Officer, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, famous that it was found that the youngsters had been lacking round 08 pm on Saturday.

He mentioned, “The company acquired misery calls regarding the above. On arrival on the scene of the incident it was found that, round eight pm, two youngsters had been caught up by floodwater.

“A joint crew of responders comprising Company responders, LASG Hearth Service and LASAMBUS was on the scene.

“The Company’s tiger crew commenced a search and rescue operation alongside the trail of the floodwater.

“Preliminary observations revealed a sloping topography with a direct channel of drain water into the canal. This has confirmed to be quite difficult to navigate. Rescue operation stays ongoing.”

He urged members to “train excessive warning, notably with younger youngsters, in flood-prone and low mendacity areas”.
