Shock As Land-Grabbers Open Fire On 7 Workers At A Construction Site In Ogun

In keeping with a report by ThePUNCH, the lads of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested three suspected land-grabbers, who allegedly shot at seven employees at a development web site within the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in an announcement on Thursday.

Oyeyemi stated the suspects had been terrorising the residents of Ota and its environs earlier than they have been apprehended on Monday.

He stated the suspects, Rufai Abdulkareem, Tobi Ajayi and Wasiu Oladipupo, have been arrested following a misery name by residents of the Owolabi Property in Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota Native Authorities Space of the state.

Oyeyemi defined that the police Space Commander, Ota, acquired a misery name that some hoodlums, numbering about 10 and working on bikes, invaded the property.

He added that the police have been instructed that the land-grabbers have been armed and taking pictures on the residents of the realm.

Oyeyemi stated, “Consequently, seven among the many employees on the web site sustained various levels of gunshot damage.

“Upon the misery name, the Space Commander, Ota, ACP Monday Agbonnika, shortly mobilised his Anti-Theft Squad males and moved to the scene.

The PPRO added that gadgets recovered from the suspects included one locally-made single-barrelled pistol, three reside cartridges and two expended cartridges.

He stated the injured employees had been taken to the Basic Hospital, Ota, for medical consideration.

Oyeyemi stated the state Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson, had directed that the suspects be transferred to the State Felony Investigation and Intelligence Division for additional investigation.

He added that the CP additionally ordered that the chief of the gang, recognized as Joseph Ayodele, be hunted down and dropped at justice.

“The CP assured members of the general public that the suspects shall be charged in accordance with the anti-land grabbing legal guidelines of Ogun State as quickly as investigation is concluded,”
Oyeyemi acknowledged.
