"Soku Oil Well Belongs To Rivers And Not Bayelsa"

Gov Wike

Governor Nyesom Wike

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state  has advocated a brand new income sharing system that can make the state get extra money for growth.

That is because the governor described as “unlucky”, feedback by his Bayelsa State counterpart, Douye Diri, on the possession of the Soku oil effectively, situated within the state, insisting that the oil effectively belongs to Rivers State.

The governor spoke when he acquired a delegation of the Income Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Fee on a courtesy go to at Authorities Home, Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

The governor, based on an announcement by his Commissioner for Info and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim, stated, “It’s unlucky that the Bayelsa State Governor informed you while you visited him that you shouldn’t pay us income from Soku Oil Nicely.

“The matter was on the Supreme Courtroom when the Nationwide Boundary Fee admitted that they made an error of their 11th version publication by situating Soku Oil Nicely in Bayelsa State.

“They have been, due to this fact, directed to appropriate the error of their 12th version publication. When in addition they did not impact the correction, we had to return to the Federal Excessive Courtroom. The courtroom, in its knowledge, directed that every one income accruing from Soku Oil Nicely needs to be paid to Rivers State.

“That’s the place. For Bayelsa State Governor to come back as much as say that you shouldn’t pay our cash is unlucky.

“If they’ve filed a matter on the Supreme Courtroom, it isn’t an injunction to cease the implementation of the subsisting judgment.”
