According to a news that was published by the Arise Online this morning, it was reported that during yesterday’s meeting, the President of Nigeria, Chief Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress, agreed to make former governor Abdullahi Ganduje as the next chairman of the party.
However, Arise also reported that a source, who spoke with Thisday paper correspondent, concerning the development also revealed whom was picked to be the next secretary of the party.
The source reported that, the former Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, was in line to become national secretary, however he is not keen because of his guber ambition.
It was reported that save for unforeseen circumstances, or last minute change of permutations, the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), that is guided by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, may have settled for Gboyega Oyetola as the next APC national secretary.
The source said, although the preferred candidate for the office of national secretary was not clear yet but the former governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola, was said to have been pencilled in for the position. Further talking, he said Oyetola was believed not to be particularly keen on it, because of his ambition to return to office as the governor of Osun State in the next gubernatorial election in the state.
