Three Highway Robbers Arrested In Ogun


The Suspects

Three suspected freeway robbers at Alapako space, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway have been apprehended by the Ogun State Police Command.

The suspects: Uzefa Idris, Adamu Yakubu and Ayuba Buhari have been arrested following a misery name obtained by the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Owode Egba Division Mazda bus had been forcefully stopped on the freeway by a gang of armed robbers and that the occupants have been being dispossessed of their belongings.

Upon the misery name, the DPO, SP Mathew Ediae rapidly led his anti-robbery workforce to the scene and on sighting the policemen, the hoodlums took to their heels however have been chased into the bush the place three of them have been apprehended.

The 2 victims of their operation, Oluwakemi Oyegade who was dispossessed of N545,000 and one itel telephone in addition to the driving force, Zacheaus Olaniyi have been rescued and brought to the station.

The 2 victims narrated how the hoodlums jumped on the street from the bush and forcefully stopped the car consequent upon which they began beating them with matchete earlier than dispossessing them of their valuables.

Recovered from the arrested ones are: the sum ofN99,700 and one itel telephone.

In the meantime, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered the rapid switch of the suspects to the Particular Anti-robbery Squads,SARS, for discreet investigation and prosecution.
