Top 8 Ghanaian And African Celebrities Who DIED Through Road Accident

Celebrities Buzz has compiled the list of top 8 African artistes who died through road accidents;

Accidents have claimed most lives of our top African celebrities and it’s just so sad.

Either due to reckless driving, bad roads or ritual and other spiritual sacrifices, most celebrities tend to lose their lives in vain.

  1. Suzzy Williams

Suzzy Williams was a well-known Ghanaian television and film actress. She starred in films such as Bloody Mary, Calamity, The Comforter and Mother’s Heart.

Her career as an actress was launched through the African hit film Together Forever, with a screenplay by US-based Ghanaian producer and screenwriter Leila Djansi.

Actress Suzzy Williams died after a motor accident on the main La—Teshie Nungua Highway.

The picture shows the mangled Mitsubishi Pajero the actress was driving.

She died exactly at age 23.

Suzzy Williams was Ghana’s best screen goddess during her days.

She sadly left her belovers to her grave on September 8, 2005.

2. Dagrin

Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun, also known as Dagrin, was a Nigerian rapper from Ogun, Nigeria.

He was one of the most respected rappers whose hardworks set the pace for others to follow.

He died at the age of 25 on 22 April 2010 after a vehicle accident in Lagos, Nigeria.

The eyewitnesses, who said they were first to reach the scene of the road crash to assist, said that Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun also known as “Dagrin” did not drunkenly crash into a truck parked at the side of the road as put out by police.

Instead, the truck driver had been stopped in the middle of the road by Police who were demanding bribes. Unfortunately, the truck had no back lights and the late musician had plowed into it unknowingly.

His death still remains a mystery.

3. Terry Bonchaka

Terry Bonchaka was a Ghanaian hiplife artist who was well loved across the world.

Born Terry Nii Okang Mensah Adjetey, Terry Bonchaka died on October 29, 2003, in a car accident while returning from a show at the University of Ghana.

Bonchaka, 21, died on the Legon-Madina road when the vehicle in which he was riding with a friend after performing at the Akuafo Hall Celebration, suddenly veered off the road and hit a tree.

4. Ebony Reigns

Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, known by her stage name Ebony Reigns, was a Ghanaian dancehall/Afrobeats artist known for her hit songs “Poison” and “Kupe”.

She was discovered by Bullet from Ruff n Smooth and was signed unto his label known as ‘RuffTown Music’.

The popular dancehall artiste died in a gruesome road accident that occurred one late Thursday evening on the Sunyani-Kumasi road.

The 20-year-old singer and three other persons were on board a Jeep with registration AS 497-16, travelling from Sunyani to Kumasi when a head-on collision with a VIP bus heading towards Sunyani from Kumasi occurred.

The driver of the vehicle escaped death, however, two other occupants, a military officer identified as Francis Atsu Vondee and lady identified only as Frankie died later at the Bechem Government Hospital after they were rushed there DSP John Adusei, Mankraso District Commander, confirmed.

5. Vibrant Faya

Dancehall artiste Emmanuel Kojo Quayeson, better known by his stage name as Vybrant Faya died in a motor accident.

The artiste died exactly on Sunday, October 23 at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra after he was involved in an accident on the Tema Motorway.

He was tipped to be one of a kind after his Mampi’ banger gave him an instant hit.

6. Kwame Owusu Ansah

Kwame Owusu was one of Ghana’s finest actors, Kwame Owusu Ansah, died at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra after sustaining serious injuries in a fatal accident on the Accra-Tema Motorway.

Kwame Owusu-Ansah, before his untimely death was lending support to the Ghana music industry to attain higher heights. He was part of Madhaus Incorporation, a new music label, which is a subsidiary of FNT Group of Companies.

Kwame Owusu Ansah Toyota Camry with registration number GT 4665Z ran straight under a packed cargo truck with registration number AS 3246W on Thursday night and in the process, he suffered multiple head and waist injuries.

The ace actor died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital the following day while doctors were trying to save his life.

7. Quincy B

Quincy L. Burrowes, commonly known as Quincy B was a very promising Liberian singer who was fast gaining international recognition.

He died in a tragic motor accident early Friday morning. He was 23.

Before his death, he became the youngest artist in Liberia’s struggling music history to become a brand ambassador for a major telecommunications company, Lonestar Cell MTN.

8. DJ Arafat

Ange Didier Houon, also known as, or Arafat Muana and by various other stage names, was an Ivorian DJ and singer, who made music in the Coupé-Décalé genre.

He died in a motor accident after he crushed his speeding motor at the back of a moving car.
