Tragedy As Landlord's Son Stabs Tenant To Death Over Broom

A middle-aged man, Babangida Eluemuno, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a dealer at Onitsha predominant market to loss of life at his residence, 9 Agba Road, Inland City, Onitsha, Anambra State, Vanguard has reported.


The deceased has been identfied as teenager, Arinze Omeh, from the Enugwu-Ezike group in Igbo-Eze North Native Authorities Space of Enugu State, was allegedly stabbed to loss of life following a brawl.


Narrating the story, Oluchukwu Omeh, Arinze’s brother, advised journalists on Tuesday that hassle began when the suspect, a son to the owner of the deceased, advised him to cease utilizing a brush meant for sweeping inside the home to comb exterior.


He mentioned: “On that fateful day, I returned dwelling with Arinze, my youthful brother, from the market.

“As we sat down inside the compound to relaxation and focus on our household issues, Babangida got here out and warned my late brother to cease utilizing the broom meant for sweeping the compound to comb rooms.

“In a reply, Arinze advised Babangida that he had heard him as a result of he had already sounded this similar warning to him earlier within the morning, for which he gripped my brother.

“It was an try to rescue Arinze from the grip of Babangida that he used a damaged bottle and stabbed him on the left wrist and whereas he was nonetheless attempting to manage the blood, Babangida once more reached for his broken-down tricycle and picked up a knife.”


Persevering with, Oluchukwu mentioned the response from the suspect angered his late brother who rushed in direction of his path and landed a heavy slap on him.

In line with him, he employed a tricycle instantly and rushed his late brother to the Basic Hospital however he was rejected by the hospital authorities over alleged problems.


Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed, mentioned the incident was beneath investigation.
