Troops Storm Gana's Hideout, Kill Militants And Arrest Bandits

In response to The PUNCH, troops on Monday destroyed the hideout of a deceased Benue militia chief, Terwase Akwaza, aka Gana, at Adu, within the Chanchanji council ward of Takum Native Authorities Space of Taraba State.

In addition they killed two militants and arrested 5 suspected bandits.

These in custody included Saalu Terlumun, Benjamin Valentine and Milton Gbegi, who had been arrested at Sai in Benue, whereas Isaac Hilega, aka Bawasa, and Godwin Terwase, had been arrested at Chanchanji in Taraba State.

The personnel of Sector 2 deployed at Gbise in Katsina Ala Native Authorities Space of Benue State together with troops of Sector four reportedly carried out a joint daybreak raid operation on the recognized militants’ hideout at Adu.

In the midst of the operation, the troops had contact with the militiamen, who fired at them as they closed in on their place.

In response to an announcement on Tuesday by the Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. John Enenche, the troops responded with superior hearth forcing the armed males to flee the camp in disarray into the encompassing forest with gunshot wounds.
