Vigilante Members Chase Killer Herdsmen Out Of Imo Community After Serious Gun Battle

In accordance with a report by Day by day Solar, some killer herdsmen have been chased out of Owaelu, Orji in Owerri North LGA of Imo State after a gun battle.

 

 

The report revealed that the incident made it inconceivable for villagers to sleep with their two eyes closed whereas the conflict lasted.

 

A few of the villagers who couldn’t stand up to the fixed gunfire that reportedly began at 9:30 pm escaped to neighbouring communities.

 

It was learnt that the vigilante have been, nevertheless, capable of ward off the rogue herdsmen following the gun duel wherein nobody was killed.

 

Witnesses stated that the herdsmen have been earlier chased away from one other close by neighborhood, Emii and deliberate to resettle in Orji earlier than the conflict with the vigilante.

 

Reacting to the incident, Nationwide President of Igbo Nationwide Council (INC), Chilos Godsent, stated that the notice created by the group helped the local people repel the herdsmen assault.

 

He recalled that the group had earlier established the “Operation Lion Stroll” safety community to fight killer herdsmen in Igbo land.

Godsent famous that the group had visited many conventional rulers to intimidate them about the advantages of embracing the safety community and lots of communities have been already complying.

The INC Nationwide President added that by the trouble of the operation, that communities have been in a position to withstand the herdsmen.

The Imo State Police Command has but to verify the incident.
